6 events to get the new year started in Aberdeenshire

The first weekend in January sees events getting underway again across the north-east.

MONYMUSK - The next film in Monymusk is Little Miss Sunshine (15) in the village hall on Saturday January 6. Doors open 7pm with the film at 7.30pm.

HUNTLY - Friends of Jubilee Hospital Rumble in the Jumble sale offers coffee, a fine piece, and a jumble sale on Saturday, 6 from 9.30am to 11.45am. Entry £5 (inc grand raffle book of tickets) £3 for coffee/tea and fine pieces. All proceeds support the hospital. Donations welcome - Any items for the jumble sale can be dropped off at 23 Upper Kirkgate at any time, or at the Stewart's Hall on Friday 5 between 10am and 3pm.

ELLON - Ellon Cinema returns at the Victoria Hall on Sunday 7 at 2pm with Wonka! Buy tickets at www.victoriahallellon.co.uk/cinema

INSCH/WESTHILL/STONEHAVEN - Scottish Amateur Cup fourth round matches take place in Westhill, Insch and Stonehaven (weather dependant) at 1.30pm (1pm Westhill).

INVERURIE - Ready to kick off the new year with some live music, then head to the The Hopeville.

On Saturday 6 they are 'Bringing the heat' with Firelight (7pm-10pm in the bar) then, on Sunday 7 they have Graham Black 3pm-6pm in the bar and Bingo from 2pm -4pm.

OLDMELDRUM - Royal British Legion Scotland - Oldmeldrum Branch sees the return of Saturday Night Dancing - First of 2024 with the Garioch Blend on Saturday 6. 8.30pm start, £8 entry members and guests welcome.
