A VERY happy reunion took place on Sunday in Inverurie at the Black Bull on North Street where 20 members of the Locos 'A' team gathered to celebrate the winning of the Scottish Juvenile Football cup in 1972, the first time the trophy had been brought back this far north from the Central belt.

Photos and newspaper cuttings lined the walls and there were plenty of fond reminiscences and antecdotes from the glory day 50 years ago when the town honoured them with a civic reception

There was a handsome cake to be cut and enjoyed to mark the occasion.

Locos A became the first side from the north of Scotland to win the Scottish Juvenile Cup after defeating Glencairn 7-2 on aggregate in the final.

Having drawn the home leg at Heathryfold Park 2-2 they then went on to thrash their opponents 5-0 at Petershill Park.
