MORE than 35,000 people in Moray have now received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, with more than 3000 fully vaccinated.

Public Health Scotland figures show that a first jab has been given to 44.9 per cent of Moray's adult population (35,736 people), with four per cent (3183 people) having received both.

In the last week, 4181 first dose jabs have been administered in Moray, an increase on the 2914 given the week prior. This highlights the increase in the rollout after a slowdown in supplies.

A total of 940 second dose jabs have been given in the last week.

Moray's figures are now ahead of the Scottish average, with 43.6 per cent of adults (1,981,818 people) across the country having received their first jab and four per cent (181,879 people) having received both.

NHS Grampian, which encompasses Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City, is slightly behind the national average on first doses administered, with 40.2 per cent of the adult population (195,177 people) having been given a first jab.

However, 4.8 per cent of the health board's adult population (23,305 people) are fully vaccinated.
