A £200,000 package aimed at improving life in six Moray towns will go before councillors next Tuesday.

The cash includes £80,000 towards improving the signs and 'street furniture' in Keith and Dufftown.

That amount will also be used to create opportunities to grow food at Reidhaven Square in Keith and in Dufftown.

In Buckie a total of £75,000 will be used to improve signs and seating as well as to appoint an artist who'd work with the community to showcase the town’s heritage.

Forres is expected to receive £35,000 for regeneration around Tolbooth Street and to support the creation of a heritage quarter.

There is also £10,000 to refurbish the public toilets in Aberlour, over which the community are looking to control from the council. Any cash left over will be used to upgrade the seating and landscaping at Broomfield Square.

While there is no council cash for Lossiemouth there are proposals to turn the vacant Warehouse Theatre into a 'community well-being hub', which would be in line for £50,000 of support from a source called the Scottish Government Place Based Investment Fund.

Members of Moray Council's planning and regulatory services committee will be asked on Tuesday to approve the proposals.
