12 events to entertain you this weekend in Aberdeenshire

It’s a super busy weekend again in the north-east with a wide range of events taking place.

TURRIFF - TDVCC Rally takes place at the Haughs on Sunday, May 12 from 10am -4pm with free entry. Cars, lorries, tractors and steam engines will all be on show from local owners at the annual meet-up event which also features trade stands and a mini fun-fair.

BANFF - Banffshire Highland Day takes place on Sunday 12 at Banff Castle from 11am - 4pm with Pipe Bands, Highland dancing, entertainment an family fun. Entry £2.50 or £5 family.

INVERURIE - Garioch Community Kitchen will hold and open day on Saturday 11 from 11am - 3pm, Come along and see the work done at the site at the Wyness Hall and enjoy refreshments and a raffle. The kitchen equipment larder will also be open for those looking for items.

ELLON - Meiklemill Primary School’s buttery morning and carboot sale takes place on Sunday 12 from 11am - 2pm, priced £10 per car. You don’t need to book a slot you can just turn up on the day. Sellers can gain access from 10am. Entrance to the hall for the Buttery morning is via the back playground. Adults £2 and children £1.50 - this includes a drink and buttery or pancake.

FRASERBURGH - Come along to the Fraserburgh Blue Light Festival on Sunday 12 at the Leisure Centre from 12.30pm - 4pm. This is a family friendly event suitable for all ages. There will be a wide range of emergency service related exhibitors including Police Scotland, Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, Scottish Ambulance Service, Broch Community First Responders , North East Rider Volunteers Scotland , Poppy Scotland & Bud, H.M Coastguard. Alongside these exhibitors, there will be a selection of interactive activities for children to enjoy along with a variety of food exhibitors.

TURRIFF - Friends of Turriff and Banff MS Group coffee morning takes place at the Legion on Saturday 11 from 10am -noon. Adults £3, Children £1.

ELLON - Ellon Men’s Shed hold an open day on Saturday 11 from 11am, - 3pm. Come along and find out what goes on at the site on Hospital Road and see the wide range of activities that they cater for.

ALFORD - Alford and District Rotary Club plant sale takes place on Saturday 11 in the Haughton Arms Hotel car park from 10am - noon. Quality plants, all grown locally, with all sale proceeds going to charity.

KINTORE - Kintore Senior Citizens Club Buttery morning takes place on Saturday 11 at the Kintore Church Hall from 10am - noon. Adults £3 , children free.

ALFORD - How Many Left takes place at the Grampian Transport Museum on Sunday 12 from 10am.

INVERURIE- Run Garioch will be held at the Garioch Sports Centre on Sunday 12, with races starting from 9am - head along and cheer on the charity runners.

PETERHEAD/ALFORD/LAURENCEKIRK - The Freedom of Aberdeenshire parades for the Royal Regiment of Scotland take place on Saturday and Sunday.
