Along with Mother's Day on Sunday, there's a lot going on to keep families entertained this weekend.

HUNTLY - Family Ceilidh with George Rennie and Liam McIntosh with all proceedes to Strathbogie Drumblade Church. Saturday 9 at the Stewart's Hall, Huntly from 7.30pm. BYOB/Raffle, tickets £8 adults, 34 children from Viv McIntosh 07824 448376/ 01466 760740.

INVERURIE - Mother's Day craft in the Hall at the Roman Catholic Church, 116 North Street on Saturday 9 from 1pm-5pm. Adults - free, single entry £5 two kids £8, three kids £11. Fundraising for Colony Colts 2011.

CHAPEL OF GARIOCH - FROM Scotland's Mother's Day Afternoon Tea takes place at the Village Hall from 1.30pm - 4pm. Adults £10, U12 £7 U5 free. Tickets from 07768 123975 (Chris) or 01467 681208 (Kathleen).

NEW PITSLIGO - Simply Rod Stewart (tribute act) comes to New Pitsligo hall on Saturday, March 9 from 9pm. Tickets £12 from the Bring and Buy Hub and this is a bring your own bottle event.

TURRIFF - Turrif Rotary coffee morning takes place on Saturday 9, 10am -noon at the Legion. All proceedes to International Charities. Adults £3, Children £1.

ALFORD - Volunteer Open Day on Saturday 9 at the Alford Valley Railway from 11am - 1pm. Volunteers are needed to help run the railway including potential drivers, guards, station hosts and maintenance teams. Come along and find out what you can do to help.

PORTSOY - Variety Concert with Eddie Rose - Portsoy Church Centre on Sunday 10 from 2pm - 5pm. Tickets £12 from 01261 842739 (Irene) or 07490 857369 (Sheila) in ad of the Institute Hall,

KEMNAY - Kemnay Village Hall Saturday 9 at 7.30pm - Arthur Coates and Kerran Cotterell performing with their music which is rooted in Quebecois traditional music fused with songs from around the British Isles and North America. Tickets £10 and £7 in full time education from Kintore Library, Kemnay Farm Shop (cash only), at neatshows.co.uk and by emailing jcbnewberry@aol.com.

FORDYCE - Fordyce Primary School Daffodil Tea takes place on Saturday 9 from 10am- noon at he Fordyce Village Hall. Entry £3 adult, £2 child with a great range of stalls on offer.

INSCH - Marie Curie Great Daffodil appeal Daffodil Tea takes place on Saturday 9 at Insch Church hall from 2pm-4pm. Adults £5, Children £2.50.
