10 fun events taking place in Aberdeenshire this weekend

With the good weather set to continue this weekend, there's a host of events on, including the legendary Steam Fair and Sports days taking place at Kemnay and Oldmeldrum.

Logie Durno - Famine Relief for Orphans in Malawi (FROM Scotland) are hosting the Mario Janetta Big Band in Logie Durno Hall on Saturday, June 17 at 8pm. Tickets available from 01467 681208 or 01467 371727. Table seating. BYOB, adults £10, children £6.

Oldmeldrum - |Meldrum Sports returns on Saturday, with events kicking off at 10.30am at the show field 10.30am with the Glenfiddich Qualifying Heavy Events. Light events start at 1pm with the massed pipebands at 1.20pm and the official opening at 1.30pm. With Highland Dancing, baby show, kids races and the Tug O'War there is something for everyone at the event.

Kemnay - Castle Fraser Steam Fair takes place at the historic venue on Saturday and Sunday with over 40 vintage machines in action, including demonstrations in the show ring, amusements and this year sees the return of the dodgems alongside a massive turnout of local vintage and historic cars, tractors, trucks and buses.

Banff - Family Ceilidh at the Deveronside Social Club, Tannery Street on Sunday, June 18 from 2pm-4pm. £4 adult £1 U16's with dancing instructions.

Turriff - Let’s kick this together Charity Football Tournament at The Haughs starts at 10am as 34 teams battle it out in aid of Mental Health.

Ellon - Home Start Garioch Casino Night, Saturday, June 17 from 7pm - 11pm at the Victoria Hall, Ellon. Book your place for a great night via tracy@homestartgarioch.org.uk or on 01467 624801.

Turriff - Friends of Turriff Academy Coffee Morning takes place at the Turriff Legion from 10am-noon.

Ellon - Ellon Cinema returns on Saturday, June 17 at the Victoria Hall at 2pm - The Little Mermaid. Tickets from https://www.victoriahallellon.co.uk/cinema

Aberchirder - Foggie Men's Shed host an Open Day on Saturday, June 17 to coincide with the Foggie farmers market, and Bremners yard sale, so why not come along to meet some of the members at the Aberchirder & District Men Shed for a blether and a cuppy, to see what goes on in this amazing facility.

Keith - 1940s day at the Keith and Dufftown railway on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday 18 - Join the team as they travel back to 1940s Britain and discover what life was like on the Home Front.
