PEOPLE across the north east are being urged to team up with NHS Grampian to stay on track with their New Year’s resolution.

Don't give up on the health kick is the advice.
Don't give up on the health kick is the advice.

Whether it’s stopping smoking, cutting back on alcohol, getting fit or eating healthier after overdoing it on Christmas turkey, specialist staff from NHS Grampian’s healthpoint service are available to give free advice and support as part of their "New Year, New You" wellbeing checks.

The one to one checks are available from January 5 at all healthpoint sites across Grampian and usually take between 20 and 30 minutes.

Libby Souter, healthpoint Coordinator with NHS Grampian, said: "We all go into a New Year with the best of intentions but, once the festive season is over and people get back into the normal routine, it can be very difficult to stay on track.

"That’s completely understandable however we are urging people not to give up on their health resolutions without speaking to us first. People are far more likely to meet their goals with the appropriate support and healthpoint offers free, practical and confidential information from trained staff on a wide range of health topics.

"The ‘New Year, New You’ wellbeing checks are simple to book and can be made either by calling, emailing or texting."

To book one of the checks call the free healthline on 0500 20 20 30, email healthpoint@nhs.net, text the word ‘INFO’ to 82727 or drop into your local healthpoint.

•Healthpoint facilities are located at Aberdeen Health Village, Fredrick Street, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Concourse, Dr Gray’s Hospital Elgin, The Hot Spot,1-3 Kirk Street Peterhead and at 58a High Street, Fraserburgh.
