Officers are appealing for information to trace Rosemary Laing, aged 77, who has been reported missing from the Rothes area in Moray.

Rosemary was reported missing on Wednesday, January 27 and was last spoken to on Tuesday evening.

Rosemary is described as being 5’3" tall, of slim build and has short white/grey hair. She wears spectacles and she is possibly wearing a knee length black jacket and trousers.

Searches are ongoing in the area in a bid to trace Rosemary and local officers are being assisted by police dogs and the Coastguard.

"At this point we do require members of the public to assist with police searches however we would ask that residents in the Rothes and wider area check their own sheds, garages or outhouses," said a spokesman.

Officers are concerned for Rosemary’s welfare and so anyone who has information that could assist with tracing Rosemary is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
