KEITH and Huntly are among the communities that now have cardiac volunteer responders.
They have been trained to carry out CPR and use a portable defibrillator to shock someone's heart if they go into cardiac arrest.
The Sandpiper Trust charity is behind the Wildcat project which has already trained 200 volunteers across Grampian.
They will work in tandem with the Scottish Ambulance Service to try and improve the survival rate for cardiac arrest patients.
The project was officially launched in Inverurie on Tuesday, January 31.
Project leader is Keri Fickling, a Huntly-based paramedic.
To find out more about the launch and local volunteers get the Banffshire Herald and Huntly Express on Friday.
