Impromptu perforamces on the street, pubs, clubs took place across the town.

There were also organised ceilidhs and concerts, competitions on the Saturday and an open air concert to bring the curtain down on the Sunday in Reidhaven Square.

Kathleen Anderson, chairman of the TMSA Keith Festival committee said: "We were delighted that entry numbers for the competitions were up this year. There was a really high standard of performances. The numbers were up to such an extent that the competitions over-ran."

All the champions were invited to perform at the winners’ concert, which took place on Saturday evening at St Thomas’s hall.

For full results from the festival and a picture special on the event see Friday’s print version of the Banffshire Herald.
