Ms Buchan has worked in Moray for the past 22 years, initially as a teacher, and has held senior leadership positions as well as being Moray’s principal educational psychologist for a time.

Her wide-ranging experience means she brings a wealth of knowledge on the leadership and management of schools to the position.

Ms Buchan said: "I have received a very warm welcome from parents, pupils and staff and am looking forward to an exciting future here at Keith Primary School."

The school is among the larger primaries in the Moray area and, with a roll of just over 300 pupils, has 14 classrooms including an arts and science room, music and drama studio and an additional support needs base.

The present building opened in February 2012 and shares its campus with Keith Grammar School.
