THE polls open on Thursday morning in the General Election 2015 when voters in Keith and Moray will make their choice.

Angus Robertson is seeking re-election for the SNP, having represented the area at Westminster since 2001.

His main challengers are Douglas Ross (Conservative) and Sean Morton (Labour), who both represent Fochabers-Lhanbryde on Moray Council.

Mr Ross is standing at a Moray parliamentary election for the third time, having first stood for Westminster in 2010 and the Scottish Parliament in 2011.

Labour candidate Mr Morton is standing for the first time in a national election.

Green Party candidate James Mackessack-Leitch is making a little bit of history as the first ever Green candidate in a Moray election.

The UKIP candidate is Rob Scorer, while the Liberal-Democrats are represented by Jamie Paterson.

Nationally, pre-election polls are predicting a tight contest, with the Conservatives and Labour neck and neck, and neither unlikely to win an overall majority.

The SNP are predicted to do well across Scotland and could be the third largest party at Westminster following the election.

The polling stations across Moray open at 7am and will remain open until 10pm.
