The station has made great investment which has led to the purchase of new modern equipment and to securing its own broadcast licence.

Day time hours have been introduced as another stepping stone to building the station's popularity. KCR hopes to continually add to its broadcasts to reach a bigger audience.

New volunteers are always welcome. The station’s newest recruit is 15-year-old Eilidh Simmers who takes to the airwaves between 7pm-7.30pm every Sunday.

She said: "I have done four shows and I love it. Sundays can’t come around quick enough.

"My show, Eilidh, is a modern music show based on requests that I receive from friends and people at school.

"I first came to KCR when I was looking for somewhere to volunteer for my Duke of Edinburgh award. After that, KCR offered me a programme and I jumped at the chance. It’s great fun."
