THE search is continuing today for missing 85-year-old Kathleen Edward, who was reported missing on Tuesday from the Broomfield Square area of Aberlour.

Local officers are being assisted in the searches by specialist resources, including search officers, dog units, the Police Scotland helicopter and the Coastguard.

Kathleen was reported missing from the Broomfield Square area at around 2:30pm on Tuesday. January 26.

She is described as being 5’3’’ tall, of slim build and has light grey short hair. She walks with a slight stoop and uses two walking canes but is believed to have only one with her. It is not known what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance but is possibly wearing red shoes.

Inspector Megan Heathershaw, who is coordinating the search efforts, said: "Officers conducted a number of enquiries throughout yesterday evening and are increasing the search efforts today.

"We would like to thank members of the public for their kind offers of assistance, however as specialist resources are carrying out their searches, public searches are not yet being organised.

"At this time, we would ask members of the public in the area to check their outhouses, sheds and garages for any signs of Kathleen."

Anyone who has information that could assist with tracing Kathleen Edward is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
