ON THE day that Donald Trump is sworn in as the 45th US president, a Keith kilt school has said a special thank you to the outgoing President Barack Obama.
Linda Gorn, volunteer chairwoman of the Keith Kilt and Textile Centre in Mid Street, has sent a special needle felt picture of Barack and Michelle Obama's dogs, Bo and Sunny as a thank you for their eight years in the White House.
Mrs Gorn told Mr Obama: "I have great admiration for the way that you have acted as president, with dignity, honesty and dedication. Having been in politics myself I have some knowledge of the day to day choices a politician has to make and you can never please everyone.
"I hope you will accept this gift with the appreciation that I feel for what you have contributed to the world. A huge thank you."
The former Liberal Democrat Moray Councillor added: "Michelle and your family have done you proud. My 10-year-old twin granddaughters think you're great and so do I."
Mrs Gorn has invited the Obamas to visit the kilt school and offered to make him a Highland kilt.
