Parties welcome support on campaign trail

The election campaign trail was firmly focussed on the north-east at the weekend as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Scottish Government Finance Secretary Derek Mackay and Conservative Minister for Health Matt Hancock.

In the Banff and Buchan constituency, in Turriff, Mr Mackay visited several local businesses in support of Small Business Saturday.

Fraserburgh welcomed minister for Health, Matt Hancock as part of his ongoing tour of constituencies across the UK.

Over in Inverurie, in the Gordon constituency, the First Minister was welcomed at the Garioch Heritage centre by society president Colin Wood and showed great interest during her tour as well as helping at the Hands-On Christmas crafts event.

Her visit also saw her visiting nearby Kemnay which sits within the edge of the adjacent Aberdeenshire West and Kincardine constituency.
