Former Inverurie Loco Works apprentices and employees gathered for a festive lunch at the Garioch Heritage Centre in Inverurie.

Organised by former Locos man and Garioch Heritage Society member Charlie Milne, 28 invitees enjoyed reminiscences going back over 50 years.

Railway anecdotes were soon flowing fast as old acquaintances were renewed.

Among the guests was Thomas Tait, whose paper mill took on many of the apprentices when the Loco Works closed in 1969.

A nostalgic display of photographs brought many a chuckle, as folk recognised their younger selves.
