Officers from the Garioch Local Policing Team are working with retailers in the build up to Christmas to reduce instances of theft by shoplifting and anti-social behaviour.

Local community officer, PC James Stewart has been visiting retailers and providing them with crime prevention advice to ensure they are prepared for the festive season.

PC Stewart said: "Garioch is a safe place to live and work, but this does not mean we can be complacent.

"I have been offering crime prevention advice to retailers in Garioch and there will be an increased police presence during shopping times in the build up to Christmas.

"I would urge anyone thinking of stealing from retail premises to think again, as retailers will be vigilant and prepared."
