Fireworks should be fun but one Huntly pensioner suffered a frightening ordeal.
Fireworks should be fun but one Huntly pensioner suffered a frightening ordeal.

The 85-year-old lives in a quiet residential area of the town.

He said: "It was like a rocket and I can only describe the flames coming from it being like a blow lamp.

"I am not an early bedder. If I had been in bed I hate to think what might have happened."

He was able to put it down a drain.

Sergeant Ian Moeller said: "Clearly the consequences of this incident could have been catastrophic.

"As we approach the Halloween and bonfire season, I would urge people to behave responsibly and with consideration for others within the community."
