HUNTLY let their lead slip as they suffered a 4-2 friendly defeat away to junior side Culter.

The visitors were without a number of players; Andrew Pennycook was on holiday while new signings Dennis Wyness, Jordan Morrice and Stuart Hodge all missed out after picking up recent injuries.

The opened the scoring on the quarter-hour mark, getting the better of their opponents in midfield before moving the ball forward and Derek McKECHNIE finished the move with a well-placed shot.

Huntly levelled when Neale Allan got forward on the right before delivering a cross for Philip Duncan to head home.

A fine piece of individual play from Matthew McDonald saw the former Keith forward get the better of his marker before firing into the far post.

The game turned shortly after when Culter netted twice in three minutes to regain the lead.

Former Cove Rangers and Inverurie Locos forward Nicky Gordon levelled tapping in after being denied by the woodwork. Gordon added his second just before the hour mark converting from close range after an Andrew Anderson cut back.

Culter were gifted a fourth inside the last minute when Huntly’s trialist goalkeeper lost the ball on the edge of his area and substitute Ben McGregor nicked the ball off him for an easy finish.
