Mark Beaumont, who earlier this year set a new Guinness World Record of 41 days 10 hours and 22 minutes for cycling 6718 miles (10,812km) the length of Africa, from Cairo to cape Town will be back in Huntly at the end of this month.

Beaumont, who attracted a capacity audience on a previous visit, will speak about his amazing adventure during which he cycled around 160 miles each day and raised over £30,000 for charity. The cycling personality will also talk about the North 500 cycle and cycling in general

Prior to Beaumont’s talk in the Ex Servicemens Club on October 30, he will visit Gordon Primary School during the afternoon.

On November 27, Lee Craigie will be speaking in the Gordon Arms Hotel about her experiences as Scottish Champion in the British Cycling Series and competing in the Commonwealth Games.

Craigie was instrumental in setting up Cycletherapy, which works with socially excluded young people, getting them out on bikes, and learning to maintain them and will talk about that as well as about cycling for women in general.

For both talks, doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets will be available on a first come first served basis through the HDDT website -

http://www.huntlydevelopmenttrust.org/ - to be picked up on the door of the venue each night.

The Beaumont talk tickets cost £5 and the Craigie event £2.50.
