IT'S amazing how it all tots up over time.
The team at the Bank Café and Restaurant in the square at Huntly have been placing a percentage of their tips in a charity jar over the past 18 months.
When finally opened it turned out they had managed to deposit £1000.
Cheques have now been handed over to two very worthy organisations that do a lot of good work in the area.
One is the Huntly branch of the cancer charity Marie Curie.
The other is Friends of ANCHOR (Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy), which is a cause particularly close to the heart of Fiona Paterson, the Bank's owner.
She said: "I was the fundraising manager there for six years and helped to expand what they did.
"It has committed to raise at least £2million to help build a centre at Forester Hill which will be the first of its kind in Scotland and will bring together treatment for oncology and haematology patients, including those with non-malignant blood disorders."
Because the Balmoral Group pays ANCHOR's administration costs, all the donated money will go towards building the centre.
