Alex Salmond delivers Christmas windfall

A CHRISTMAS boost for Deveron Arts has come from Gordon MP Alex Salmond.

He has handed over £2000 to the group which represents the proceeds from the sale of original artwork for his 2015 Christmas card.

Deveron Arts' artist-in-residence Caroline Wendling was commissioned to design the card sent by Mr Salmond and his wife Moira.

The artwork was auctioned at the SNP conference and bought by Chris and Colin Weir, who won £161m on the Euromillions Lottery.

Mr Salmond said: "I am glad that the artwork raised a substantial sum which I am sure Deveron Arts, which has been 21 years in Huntly, will put to good use.
