Following the latest Government guidance, Ellon Cinema have cancelled this weekend's planned screenings and Victoria Hall's Management Committee have decided to close the hall for an undetermined period of time.

The committee have released a statement, which said: "As a result of the recent government guidance on the restrictions of places where gatherings take place, Ellon Cinema will be closing.

"Ellon Cinema is no exception here and along with other similar venues, the Management Committee has taken the decision to close the Victoria Hall for an undertermined period of time.

"We hope that this will not be too long but from all accounts, its likely to be months rather than weeks."

The closure also affects the live cinema event on April 5, which was to be a streaming of the Micheal Ball and Alfie Boe concert.

This has provisionally been postponed until mid-September.

Any advance tickets purchased for any of the proposed screenings will be refunded in due course.
