Ellon Men’s Shed held their final open day of the year recently, welcoming members of the public through the door to see what they've been up to.

The event was an opportunity to see and buy some of the items which members have made in the shed, which included home ware, gifts and festive decorations, as well as learn about what a Men's Shed is and how it operates.

The shed's popular model railway was also up and running on the day, and visitors had the opportunity to don the conductor's hat and try their hand at being a train driver.

Visitors could also enjoy refreshments and warming food on a chilly day.

Men's Shed is an international organisation which is tackling the increasing levels of loneliness and isolation by providing a space for people within the community to come together. socialise, share skills and work on projects for individuals and community groups.

Ellon Men's Shed offers a diverse range of opportunities for members after opening a garden area earlier this year, in addition to the well-equipped workshop and model railway.
