Ellon Academy’s annual Music For Christmas concert takes place on Wednesday and Thursday (December 18 and 19) at 7.30pm in the theatre at Ellon Academy.

This event is always popular with the wider community and is one of the music department’s highlights of the year.

The event will have a wide range of music provided by pupils from all year groups in the school; at one end of the spectrum, there will be Junior Concert Band featuring S1 pupils taking part in their first school concert and at the other there is the Senior Concert Band and Orchestra, some of whom have done this numerous times before.

Of course, it is not just band and orchestra music that will be showcased but also a wide range of singing ensembles, including the choir, Cantando vocal ensemble and various soloists.

Added into the music mix are the Jazz Band, percussion ensemble, guitar group and a variety of solos.

All in all it promises to be a spectacular evening of music with a real feeling of Christmas in the air!

There is a range of possibilities from the orchestra, concert bands, jazz bands and choirs as well as some individual pupils who have achieved success in music who are taking part in the concert.

Tickets for the concert are on sale in the main school office, priced at £6 and £4.
