Ellon Cinema this weekend

On Sunday Ellon Cinema will be screening two films at the Victoria Hall.

First up is Little Women (U) at 3pm which is the newest adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel has gained five 2020 Oscar nominations.

Four sisters come of age in America in the aftermath of the Civil War. Writer-director Greta Gerwig has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life.

While at 6pm is 1917 (15) directed by Sam Mendes set at the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield and Blake are given a seemingly impossible mission. As a regiment assembles to wage war deep in enemy territory, two soldiers are assigned to race against time and deliver a message.
