The next day sees Wake Up come to the Lemon Tree. Produced by Solar Bear, Wake Up is a triple bill of visual theatre by three trailblazing directors. In three short plays you’ll be transported to a world torn apart by conflict to a future impacted by climate change, and to a small flat the morning after the night before.

Come along for an evening of drama, mystery and dark comedy, where so much is said without a word being spoken.

The show begins at 7pm with tickets costing £13.20, available from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, phone (01224) 641122 or visit the box office at His Majesty’s Theatre or the Music Hall.

Aberdeen-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rebecca Dunn will be playing at the Music Hall Big Sky Studio on Thursday evening. She is inspired by nature, the weather, and communities. Her work reflects on our connections to the natural world and explores themes that bridge the gap between earth, culture, community and belonging.

Rebecca’s debut EP, Nice Day, Isn’t It?, released in May 2023, celebrates the community gardens that kept many neighbourhoods connected throughout lockdown. Inspired by conversations about the weather with local Aberdonian community garden groups, the songs explore the effect the unpredictable and often extreme weather in Scotland has on people’s moods and routines, as well as the language used to describe it.

Nice Day, Isn’t It? was born out of a project for Aberdeen Performing Arts’ Wonderland Festival 2022, which explored our connection to nature and green spaces when living in a city.

Kicking off at 6pm, tickets £11 and include a pint, a glass of wine or a soft drink.

Jason Byrne's show The Ironic Bionic Man takes to the stage at the Music Hall on Saturday evening. We can rebuild him! Jason is, officially bionic, 'ironically' of course, as he is now half man, half machine – born with a cock eye (then straightened), his lung collapsed (it was blown back up and sealed with metal pins), appendix removed, cartilage replaced in his knee from a poo-on-the-loo accident, arm dislocated by a wave, heart now functioning on six stents.

Starting at 7.30pm, tickets are £27, available from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, phone (01224) 641122 or visit the box office at His Majesty’s Theatre or the Music Hall.

The same evening over at the Lemon Tree Martyn Ashton – Bike Party is taking place. One of the biggest personalities in mountain biking, former World Champion Mountain Bike Trials Rider, GMBN’s Martyn Ashton, was already a legend of the sport before his 2012 Road Bike Party video and its sequel propelled him to even greater prominence.

Despite a life-changing back-break in 2013, Martyn has continued to explore what’s possible on a bike. In Bike Party, Martyn will take audiences through an entertaining look at his life on bikes.

Bike Party begins at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £20.50 from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, phone (01224) 641122 or visit the box office at His Majesty’s Theatre or the Music Hall.

The Bootleg Beatles will be playing many of the Fab Four's timeless hits.

The unmistakable sounds of The Beatles will be filling the Music Hall on Monday, October 16 when the Bootleg Beatles come to town. Billed as the world’s premier Beatles band the group continues to draw critical acclaim with their flawless recreation of the greatest songbook in history.

Tracing the Fab Four’s journey through the swinging 60s, every tiny detail is forensically observed from their authentic stage wear and instruments to their witty Beatle-banter, mind-bogglingly accurate vocal impersonation and uncanny look-a-like. With a little help from their own orchestral ensemble, and featuring a special set of songs from the Let It Be LP, this show is an absolute must-see for Beatle-maniacs of all ages.

The show gets on the road at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced from £32 to £37.50, available from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, phone (01224) 641122 or visit the box office at His Majesty’s Theatre or the Music Hall.
