THE international hit show The Simon and Garfunkel Story is back and set to play in Aberdeen tomorrow (Tuesday).

Using huge projection photos and original film footage, the international hit show also features a full live band performing all the hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound and many more.

The same evening and running until May 13 over at His Majesty's Theatre will see smash hit musical SIX take to the stage. Reigning on Broadway and in the West End, the show makes its royal debut in Aberdeen following its previous sell-out success across the country.

From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing 500 years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st century girl power. These Queens may have green sleeves but their lipstick is rebellious red.

Skippinish fans will be eager to welcome the band on their return to the Granite City on Friday at the Music Hall.

After their inaugural visit to the Music Hall back in December 2019, and a very quiet period during lockdown, Skipinnish are now well and truly back in action. The eight-piece band have toured extensively, performing to thousands of fans.

Hailing from the Highlands of Scotland the Elephant Sessions will be in town on Friday. They are comprised of Euan Smillie (fiddle), Alasdair Taylor (mandolin), Seth Tinsley (bass, synth) and Greg Barry (drums, samples).Creating a progressive blend of intricate tunes, engulfing guitars, with a bass and drum heavy backline, their music combines the very best of trad, funk and electronica resulting in a new and exciting sound.

If you were into music in the late 70s and early 80s, the chances are you were into 2-Tone, the iconic Coventry based label that was home to Ska revivalists like The Beat, The Selecter, Madness and The Specials. Porkpie are the real deal, from the classic ‘big’ ska band mould, with a full brass section, keys, guitars and porkpie hats to match.

Comedy theatre show BOUNCE comes to the Lemon Tree on Sunday and will seek to explore emotions and resilience. Developed with four primary schools in 2019, the children and artists explored emotions, what they look and sound like, and what to do when feelings feel too big. BOUNCE is an engaging and funny performance that is truly tailor made for primary aged children.

Also on Sunday Aberdeen Sinfonietta conducted by Holly Mathieson with Dionysis Gramenos (clarinet) will perform at the Music Hall. The orchestra looks forward to having as soloist in Weber’s clarinet concerto the brilliant young Greek clarinettist Dionysis Grammenos, described as “one of the most promising stars of tomorrow”, and whose awards include the Grand Prix d’Eurovision from the European Broadcasting Union.

Directed by Britain’s best-loved TV judge, Craig Revel Horwood, Strictly Ballroom: The Musical follows arrogant, rebellious young ballroom dancer, Scott Hastings (Kevin Clifton). Tutti Voices Choir will be performing in the Music Hall Big Sky Studio on Monday evening at 7.30pm. This informal performance will showcase what the choir has been working on since getting back to rehearsing together in September 2022.
