There will be an upbeat start to the month on Sunday, May 1 when Afristyle Dance Club will be performing at Buckie North Church hall.

This inspiring group of Aberdeen-based young adults perform African dance, music and drama to great acclaim. The group aims to promote youngsters’ good mental and physical health through dance, to build friendships amongst those from diverse backgrounds, to improve self-confidence and develop skills

The event is being organised by St Peter’s Church, with refreshments provided by the Women’s Guild.

Providing the inspiration for inviting Afristyle Dance Club to be invited along to perform are Nigerian priests Fr Kingsley Chigbo and Fr Peter Ezekok who are currently serving St Peter's Church. They are keen to not only reach out and bring local people together but also share some of their own culture.

All are welcome from the local area and further afield to share in what promises to be a fun experience.

The event gets under way at 5pm, with entry priced at £5 – entry for under-12s is free.

The proceeds from the event will go to the St Peter’s organ fund.
