A PACKED programme awaits on stage at the Music Hall, Lemon Tree and His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen this coming week.
Running from Tuesday to Saturday at the Lemon Tree will be A Play, A Pie and A Pint: Playthrough. In the 1980s, there were rumours of a cursed video game called Killswitch. The story went that anyone in the room when this game was played would die. Join friends Biggs and Wedge as they play Killswitch and recount the most chilling digital myths ever told. The audience will choose which haunting tales to hear and ultimately what will happen to the geeky duo.
Playthrough is a spooky interactive play that explores the darkness and addiction that lurks at the heart of our seemingly innocent playthings.

Also running from Tuesday to Saturday Calendar Girls the Musical. Following the death of a much-loved husband, a group of ordinary women in a small Yorkshire Women’s Institute are prompted to do an extraordinary thing and set about creating a nude calendar to raise money for charity.
However, upturning preconceptions is a dangerous business and none of the women are prepared for the emotional and personal ramifications they will face as the fabulous and funny calendar brings each woman unexpectedly into flower.
Calendar Girls the Musical brings together a stunning cast of music, stage and television stars. Laurie Brett (EastEnders), Liz Carney (The Full Monty, The Mousetrap), Maureen Nolan (The Nolans, Blood Brothers), Lyn Paul (The New Seekers, Blood Brothers), Helen Pearson (Hollyoaks), Samantha Seager (Coronation Street) and Honeysuckle Weeks (Foyle’s War) star as the ladies.

The Big Sky Studio over at the Music Hall will play host musician Connor Fyfe at the True North Sessions on Wednesday.
Hailing from the outskirts of Glasgow, Connor is a triumphant musical force to be reckoned with. Simply beyond his years as a musician and with his richly textured vocals accompanied by his transcendent guitar skills, he performs from a place of raw emotion which connects with his fans who are hooked on every line he sings and every note he plays. Despite being only 14 years old it is undeniable that he deserves to be on every bill he plays as his natural musicality will connect with audiences far and wide.

A romantic evening of music is on the cards on Thursday thanks to the RNSO's rendition of Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers have inspired some truly glorious music, and if you only know Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet from The Apprentice, you’re in for a wonderful surprise. In the week of Valentine’s Day, Thomas Søndergård and the RSNO will sweep you off your feet, while powerhouse pianist Simon Trpčeski brings the house down every time he plays. Saint-Saëns’ Second Piano Concerto has some serious sparkle: it just got even brighter.

The same evening over at the Lemon Tree will see Queer Folks’ Tales take to the stage. This is a hugely popular, five star rated LGBTQ+ storytelling show that’s been running at the Scottish Storytelling Theatre on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile since October 2021. With new Creative Scotland funding, these sell-out Queer Folks’ Tales shows are going Scotland-wide, featuring local LGBTQ+ storytellers in Aberdeen, Glasgow & Inverness.
Queer storytellers from around Scotland share stories of LGBTQ+ lives, past, present and future. Sometimes hilarious, often moving, occasionally shocking, always authentic, the mix of stories is as varied as the storytellers we invite. Household names feature alongside new and diverse queer storytellers from the different communities of Scotland.
