Road closures ahead for Fochabers

A NUMBER of road closures are planned for this coming week in the Fochabers and Buckie areas.

On Friday, April 21 the Square in Fochabers will be closed from 6.30pm until 11.30pm due to the Speyside Stages rally. Drivers are advised to use adjacent streets.

The rally will also see two temporary removal of access rights at two locations in the Fochabers area.

The first will be at Ordiequish Forest, running from 6pm on Wednesday, April 19 to 8pm the following day. This will be followed by Whiteash Forest, beginning at 12.01am on Friday, April 21 until 12.59pm on Sunday April 23.

In Findochty, the road at the harbour between the junctions with Commercial Street and Main Street remains closed due to ongoing road structure repairs and resurfacing. The road is expected to reopen by the end of May.

Drivers are advised to use Commercial Street to circumvent the closure.

In terms of roadworks, BT are set to be erecting a new telegraph pole from 14-16 Richmond Terrace, Portgordon. Work is due to get under way on Tuesday, April 18 or the following day and last for three working days.
