Quiet week of fish landings at Buckie as Christmas beckons

A TOTAL of five boats landed their catches at Buckie Harbour in the week leading up to Christmas.

In all, some 320 boxes of fish/prawns/squid were taken ashore, with no bags of clams landed.

The vessels taking their catches to the quayside were: Our May; Illustrious; Lily Oak VI; Chloe Ella; Transcend.

It was a busier week on the cargo front with two boats calling at Buckie.

First in was the Dutch-registered MV Elisabeth – S which imported 2104.52 tonnes of malt from King's Lynn on December 16 before sailing light to Berwick on December 20.

The MV Fri Dolphin (Bahamas) arrived on December 20 and imported 2633.38 tonnes of soya from Rotterdam. She sailed light to Riga in Latvia three days later.
