THE many different ways people can get in touch with their local policing team in Buckie have been set out in a new leaflet.
Recent difficulties being experienced by some members of the public in trying to use the non-emergency 101 contact number has inspired local officers to create leaflets explaining the many ways people can reach out to the police.
Buckie Community Officer PC Rachel Barclay said: "We've produced individual leaflets for communities in the Buckie and Keith areas outlining the many ways people can contact the police apart from phoning 101.
"As well as email addresses and websites, the leaflet contains a detachable form which can be handed in, anonymously if required.
"In an emergency, people should always phone 999."
Buckie/Keith Inspector Graham Worton added: "The leaflets have been tailored to the local areas we serve.
"We are very aware that small towns and villages have their own unique challenges which require individual and proportionate responses."
The leaflets highlight the 'contact us' section on the Police Scotland website as well as emails for the policing teams in Buckie (BuckieCPT@Scotland.pnn.police.uk) and Keith (KeithCPT@Scotland.pnn.police.uk).
They also outline to contact Crimestoppers – an independent charity where crimes can be reported anonymously – as well as www.fearless.org, a youth service aimed at 11-16-year-olds, and Ask the Police, an external official police resource which provides answers to the public's most frequently asked questions.
