PORTGORDON got the festive season under way in style when the village held a Christmas fair.

The village hall was the place to be on Saturday, December 2 from 11am to 3pm.

Denise Robson, from Portgordon Development Trust, hailed the response to the event.

She said: "The Christmas market was a great success.

"There were lots of traders selling a variety of goods. The event was really well supported and lots of positive feedback from both traders and customers."

Refreshments during the event were available in the Lampie House Café in the Richmond Community Hub.

Later this week, on Saturday, December 23, Portgordon Community Church will be holding a Christmas carol service which is due to get under way at 6pm. All are welcome to come along.
