IT was time to hail the nation's Bard at two Buckie care homes when they held their Burns suppers.
Netherha and Parklands/Burnbank care homes were ready to commemorate the eternal spirit of Rabbie Burns on Thursday, January 25.
Dinner time at both homes saw the haggis piped in and then it was then knives and forks at the ready to tuck into the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties.
Netherha Activities Co-ordinator Caroline Cameron said: "Our Burns supper went really well!
"We all had a fun filled day, starting the day off with flower arranging for our tables, then we decorated the dining room. It was such a great atmosphere with our very own poet Barbara Bowie addressing the haggis.
"Ian Flaws piped in the haggis, then we enjoyed a performance from the Alison Munro School of Dance and listened to the Scottish sounds of The Country Quines. Our residents had a great time celebrating Burns night."
Lisa Toogood, Parklands/Burnbank Activities Co-ordinator, added: "We had a great time celebrating Robert Burns, with activities throughout the day, including music from Hazel Sutherland, one of our resident’s relatives, in the morning.
"In the evening, Malcolm Risk, addressed the haggis and Graeme Goldie played the pipes as Parklands resident Nancy Shepherd carried it into the dining room. Everybody was on great form and dressed in their finest tartan regalia."
