The Peoplehood Project, run by Blackood Homes and Care along with a variety of partners, has been working with external partners to improve digital access, health and transport links in the town.

As part of the project, some homes have been offered free tablet computers, wi-fi, e-bikes and electric cars.

Now, the initiative's local engagement co-ordinator James Farley will be popping in to the Hub every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm.

As well as having a cuppa and a chat, people can learn about gaining new skills, trying new activities and volunteering with the project, as well as finding out more about E-Car and how they could get a free tablet.

Signing up to Peoplehood is free.

James can also be contacted on 07817 037686 or via email at jamesfarley@blackwoodgroup.org.uk

In late 2021, Buckie was unveiled as one of the three towns – the others being Charleston in Dundee and Cardonald in Glasgow – taking part in the £12.5 million Peoplehood scheme as the flagships testing different ways communities can be shaped from the grassroots to help people live longer, healthier lives.

Last year saw the national project win award in the Working in Partnership category of the prestigious CIH awards.
