IT was time to make a splash for a group of over-60s recently at Portknockie Harbour.

The Community Wellbeing and Development team part of Health and Social Care Moray, launched their programme of activities for the over-60s with a free taster paddleboarding session at Portknockie harbour.

The team aims to keep older people physically active and healthy in their local community for as long as possible.

Tracey Peden, the Social Enterprise Development Officer for Moray, said: “It is amazing to see so many people trying paddleboarding, building confidence, making new friends and having fun!

“Thanks to our friends at Outfit Moray, the Lossiemouth based outdoors charity, for facilitating the session and encouraging everyone to try something new.”

Amongst the paddleboarding newbies were Don Sinclair and Jane McGaw.

Mr Sinclair said: “[It] was a great session this morning and well enjoyed. Thanks for the chance to get boarding with a fantastic group… I had a whale of a time.”

Ms McGaw added: “[I] had a fab time, thanks for the experience.”
