Our Promising Futures is a part of Arrows, a Quarriers service, which successfully provides drug and alcohol support in Moray through its many support options.

Family members who are worried about a loved one’s substance use, and all professionals who have concerns or involvement with families experiencing challenges related to substance use, are being encouraged to refer directly to the service for help.

Our Promising Futures is committed to keeping families together and supporting them with the wider social inequalities that impact their lives. The service seeks to work in partnership with families and children to ensure they are listened to, respected and involved in any decisions that affect them.

Justin Jansen, Arrows Service Manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer more support to children and families dealing with these challenges in the Moray area.

"On receipt of referrals, contact will be made with the family, and the journey to grow respectful relationships between families and staff begins, where everyone feels they are heard and involved.

“Our Promising Futures staff are trained to adopt a trauma responsive, whole family rights-based approach working alongside families to identify what matters to them.”

Quarriers supports and promotes the principles of The Promise and Our Promising Futures is a step in Quarriers commitment to #Keep the Promise.

Sam McLaren, Project Manager of Arrows Children and Family Recovery, added: “We hope that the support this new service will provide for families across Moray will mean that families can be supported to make necessary changes and develop practical skills and become more resilient to deal with challenges as they present.

"This will be a targeted approach and will mean that families receive the support that they require to change their situation and thrive as a family. This is an exciting opportunity as families can have a say in how the service is shaped and how the support is delivered.”
