Six harbour walk convener Peter Macdonald, left, Buckie Rotary president-elect Jo Farquhar and committee member Bill Greig get preparations underway for this year's event.

Traditionally based in the harbour area, the event is relocating to Cluny Square this year as part of the celebrations in the inaugural Buckie Summer Show.

Now in it’s sixth year, the vent has raised tens of thousands of pounds for worthwhile causes, both locally and further afield.

Bill Greig, from the Six Harbour walk committee, said: “We’re inviting individuals and groups to sign up for this year’s event.

“Last year we had around 600 walkers and cyclist sign up, coming from near and far to participate. There was also a good mix of people who are new to the walk and who’ve done it before.

“We encourage people to register beforehand as it gives us a better idea of numbers, though you can do it on the day. It’s also cheaper as well, costing £5 beforehand and £10 on the day.

“The Six Harbour Walk are delighted to form part of the Summer Show this year, with participants leaving for the start at Portsoy from Cluny Square and finishing there as well; it’s something we’re all looking forward to.”
