Moray jobs fair set for bumper employer attendance

A DIVERSE selection of employers have signed up for the latest Moray Jobs and You Jobs Fair.

Set to take place on Thursday, September 15, the event is being run by the Department of Work and Pensions.

At the time of writing, some 28 employers have signed up for the event, covering careers ranging from aerospace to healthcare through to the military.

Donna James, Service Leader DWP, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with DYW to deliver the next Moray Jobs and You Jobs Fair.

"A large number of employers, from a range of different sectors, will be in attendance at the event. The Moray jobs market is healthy and thriving and there will be lots of job opportunities on offer.

"DWP remain focussed on assisting employers obtain the staff they need whilst using the flexibilities within Universal Credit to assist our jobseekers into work quickly. I am very much looking forward to what will be a successful event for all involved.”

Aimee Stephen, Business Liaison DYW (Developing the Young Workforce) Moray, commented: “At DYW Moray we believe the jobs fair is a great opportunity for job seekers to identify and discover jobs that local employers are promoting.

"From the last event, we heard many successes whereby job seekers received jobs as a result of attending. We look forward to welcoming many businesses along to the event to share live and upcoming vacancies within the Moray region."

Jacqui Taylor, Head of Marketing and External Relations at UHI Moray, added: "UHI Moray are delighted to host and be part of the DWP jobsfair in September.

"This will be sixth annual jobs fair organised by the DWP and DYW Moray and allows employers and potential employees to come together to discuss vacancies and skills requirements with many individuals successfully finding work and employers to fill their vacancies.

"The jobs fair is also an ideal opportunity for UHI Moray to engage with employers and discuss how we can work together for the benefit of students and ensure that the curriculum reflects the needs of the local industry."

The event will be held at UHI Moray's Alexander Graham Bell Centre for Digital Health on Moray Street, Elgin.
