WARNING has been given of major gas main replacement in Portknockie.

Four areas in the village – Church Street, Pulteney Street, Cliff Terrace and a stretch of Station Road from Church Street to Station Court – will see Scottish Gas Network conducting mains replacement works.

These are scheduled to begin at some point between January 11 and April 10 and take an estimated 145 working days, with the exception of Church Street where the work is envisaged to run for 164 working days.

Kerbing repairs outside No 23 East Church Street, Buckie, should be getting under way over January 8-9, lasting for up to three working days.

Along the road at Cluny Square, work is set to begin in the south-east quadrant around January 11-12 for two working days to repair the footway.

Down the road, work continues on a stretch of North High Street between the bowling club and Low St to resurface the carriageway and footway. This began on September 18 last year and is estimated to run for 93 working days from that date.

In Fochabers, work is ongoing over four locations between East Street and Castle Avenue to upgrade pedestrian islands. This got under way on December 1 last year and has a predicted run time of 32 working days.

The project to upgrade the cycle track between Portknockie and Cullen viaduct continues, beginning on October 31, 2023 and projected to last for 86 working days.
