SANTA had plenty of eager little helpers when he visited Seafield Hospital and Muirton Ward recently.
Helping spread some festive joy to those who will be facing Christmas in hospital were youngsters from Portessie Primary School. They teamed up with Santa's regular gang of helpers when he swings by the hospital – also known as the Friends of Seafield Hospital and Community Patients – to dish out the presents.
The kids not only handed out presents but had made Christmas cards as well and entertained the patients while on their rounds by singing some much-loved festive songs.
Their efforts were very much appreciated by the patients.
In addition to helping Santa out at Christmas time, the Friends fund-raise throughout the year in order to support projects and provide equipment and other items identified by the hospital and the ward as being of benefit to the patients.
A busy year in 2022 has seen the Friends, among many other things, help organise a complete revamp of the patient garden at Muirton, with the assistance of Finechty Men's Shed.
The group have welcomed two new volunteers to the fold recently and are always keen to hear from people who are willing to devote some of their free time to helping patients in the hospital and Muirton Ward. To find out more, visit the Friends' Facebook page.
