The last few weeks have seen the team of retained firefighters at the village's fire station running a competition to help kids beat the coronvirus lockdown blues.

To be in with a chance of landing a tour of the station, plus various ice cream prizes, children are being asked to draw or paint a picture with a fire fighting related theme.

However, all entries have to be posted to the fire station Facebook page by this Thursday.

Crew commander Dave Crawford said: "We've had a huge response and it's going to be a difficult task deciding the winners.

"Good luck to everyone who's entered and stay safe."

The top drawing will see the winning artist treated to not only a tour of the fire station but also family voucher for ice cream from the multi-award winning Fochabers Ice Cream Parlour.

Second prize comes in the shape of a family voucher for the Ice Cream Parlour.

Third place merits a scoop of ice cream from the parlour.

In addition to the flood of artwork intended for the competition, the fire station window has also become home to a variety of rainbows and other pictures urging people to stay safe and happy during the lockdown.
