Large increase in fish landings at Buckie Harbour

FISH landings nearly doubled last week compared to the previous seven-day period.

A total of 18 vessels landed 631 boxes of fish/prawn squid and 187 bags of clams.

This compares to 330 boxes and 70 bags the week before.

Landing their catches last week were: Pegasus; Beverly Ann; Crimson Arrow; Defiant; Our May; Brantia; Intrepid; Camann II; Endeavour; Lily Oak VI; Boy Sam; Flourish; Deeside; Friendly Isle; Chloe Ella; Noordzee; Camm Gracious; Ocean Way.

One cargo vessel called at Buckie last week, the Liberian-registered MV River Trader. She imported 938.18 tonnes of malt from King's Lynn on September 21 before sailing light to Terneuzen in Holland the next day.
