With a renewed period of lockdown now in place, the local authority are asking for renewed vigilance on the part of communities.

A statement on the council Facebook page said: "About a month ago we asked Moray residents to keep an eye out for children and families at risk as schools closed for the Covid-19 outbreak.

"We're reiterating that request as we start [a renewed period] of lockdown when our most vulnerable children and families could become increasingly isolated.

"Everyone within local communities is asked to be extra observant and play a part to keep children safe from harm during these challenging times.

"It’s better to say something than nothing. If you’ve seen something and have concerns about a child or children.

Anyone who may have concerns can get in touch during the working day by phoning (01343) 554370 or e-mailing childrensaccessteam@moray.gov.uk. The out of office hours phone number is 03457 565656.
