Highest police honour for former Buckie and Keith police Inspector

A FORMER police inspector in charge of Buckie and Keith has been awarded the highest honour for service in the force.

Chief Superintendent Louise Blakelock, who was in charge in Buckie and Keith over 2012-13 and is now the Head of Road Policing for Scotland based in Inverurie, has been awarded the Queen's Policing Medal (QPM) in the Queen's new year honours list.

She said: “I am extremely humbled and honoured to have received this recognition for doing a job that I love.”

She is one of four Police Scotland officers to receive the QPM.

Police Scotland’s Chief Constable Iain Livingstone QPM, said: “Policing is a demanding and rewarding vocation and I am grateful for the professionalism and public service demonstrated by officers, staff and special constables every day, in every area of Scotland.

"I give my warmest congratulations and thanks to those who have been recognised by Her Majesty the Queen."
