A Star is Born starring Lady Gaga is showing for free next week at Buckie High School.

It's the fourth version of this film classic which was first screened in 1937, then subsequently in 1954 (with Judy Garland) and 1976 (with Barbara Streisand).

This time Lady Gaga stars as waitress and country singer Ally, who is discovered by country music legend Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper, who also directs).

Under his guidance her career takes off, as his collapses in a losing battle with drink and drugs.

Well-received by critics and audiences alike, the film was nominated for many awards and won the Oscar for best song.

A Star is Born (15; running time 136mins).

Admission is free and all welcome on Wednesday, November 6, at 7pm in the school library.
