A 30-year-old man, 14-year-old boy and two women aged 48 and 53 from Elgin have been charged and will be reported to the procurator fiscal in relation to the possession of controlled drugs, following searches on Thursday, February 11.

As a result of the operation, over £3700 in cash was recovered and enquiries are continuing.

Warrants were executed in the Elgin and Buckie areas by members of North East Division’s Organised Crime Investigation Team and officers from community policing teams.

Detective Constable Kyle MacKinnon of the North East Division’s Organised Crime Investigation Team said: "This action was a direct result of members of the public coming forward with information.

"Police Scotland will continue to take action to tackle the issues local communities highlight as a concern and would encourage people with information about drug activity and organised crime to come forward."

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.
